Green City, Clean Waters 2018 Art Contest
The Partnership for the Delaware Estuary is now accepting entries on behalf of the Philadelphia Water Department for its Green City, Clean Waters Art Contest!
All entries must be mailed by Wednesday, February 28th. Please click here for a brochure containing rules and an entry form.
Philadelphia students in grades K-12 attending public, private, charter or home school in Philadelphia can participate in this year’s Green City, Clean Waters Art Contest. All they need to do is create an original drawing that shows how we all can keep Philly’s Water clean! Examples can be found in the Green City, Clean Waters Plan, Storm Drain Marking Program, and our fact sheets.
Rules for Students:
Create an original drawing that shows how we are all connected to the same river: theDelaware River! Artwork should show that our storm drains lead to the Delaware River. Please limit words to no more that 5 ("We Share the Delaware" is an encouraged phrase).
Each entry MUST have a copy of the Official 2018 Entry Form filled out legibly and entirely - the form is mailed to your school and can be found on our website for download atwww.DelawareEstuary.org/2018-art-contest.
Tape or paperclip the form to the back of your drawing- NO STAPLES please.
Artwork must be HORIZONTAL and on 8 1/2 x 11 inch sheet of paper with no lamination or protruding parts.
Please do not use any trademarked phrases, logos, or images (for example, "Just Do It", Coca Cola, or Philly Phanatic).
Use any medium - crayons, markers, paint. For street displays and the calendar, color art work is preferred but not required.
PRIZES
The four first-place drawings, one each age category (K-2, 3-5, 6-8 & 9-12), will be transformed into street art stickers and installed on Philly streets.
The top three drawings from each age category will be included in an annual calendar sent to all participants and featured online.
Drawings will be featured in a SEPTA advertising campaign and a free calendar next spring. We will also post them to websites hosted by the contest’s sponsors, Facebook, Flickr, and YouTube.
Other prizes to be awarded at a ceremony this spring include:
Gift cards up to $100 in value for students and $50 for teachers
$100 gift cards for the first three schools or organizations to submit over 100 entries
Framed certificates of achievement
A contest calendar available for free inside the Fairmount Water Works Interpretive Center
