Understanding the Immigrant Experience through Film: I Learn America
The Office of Multilingual Curriculum & Programs, along with the FACE Office's Multilingual Family Support department, has been screening films about the experiences of immigrants in America to help School District of Philadelphia staff, families, and community members learn about the lives, challenges, and resiliency of immigrants.
On Friday, June 9, the film series will conclude with a showing of I Learn America - including a discussion led by the film's director! The director, along with two of the students featured in the film, will speak to audience members about themes depicted in the film.
Time: 4:30-7:30pm
Location: 440 N. Broad St.
Come to meet the director and featured students, watch the film, enjoy snacks, and participate in great conversation!
Please join us to engage in a dialogue on immigrant experiences both locally and globally, and to enhance collaborative efforts to support immigrant students in The School District of Philadelphia.
