The atrium of 440 N. Broad Street was once again packed for February’s Family Engagement Workshop.
February’s workshop focused on special education and was facilitated by Special Education Liaison Joanne Eggleston. The workshop provided a brief overview of each step in the special education process, emphasizing the important role of parents in the process.
Participants learned the basics of their child’s right to special education services, how the process of developing special education plans works, and the parent’s role in developing an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) that is responsive to a child’s needs.
At the end of the presentation, FACE held a raffle for tickets to see the Harlem Globetrotters perform.
Raffle winners from the morning session (left to right): Dereck Thomas (Randolph Academy), Mary Tague (Sullivan), Melissa Stewart (Bache Martin), Jamie Burns (TM Peirce).
Raffle winners from the evening session (left to right): Waltrina Blake (Henry C. Lea), Sheila Morrison-Wesley (Carver), son of Tamikka Coleman (Clever Mastery), Bedilia Williams (Ludlow).
