Houston School is "floored" by new gym!

The students of Henry H. Houston Elementary School can say goodbye to splinters during gym class now that they have a shiny new floor to exercise on. On Tuesday, September 6, the Houston Boys Basketball Team cut the ribbon and revealed the new gym floor for the Mt. Airy community. Coach Brandon Coleman and his team were the first to dribble basketballs on the gym floor as they took shots from the free-throw line. “Over time, things have been built to represent things that are greater than the people building them,” said Principal Leroy Hall as he addressed the community. “Yes it’s just a gym floor, but at our school it represents a community coming together.” Mr. Hall is in his third year as the Principal of Houston Elementary school, and he continues to prove to his community that Houston is growing and improving for the students of Mt. Airy.
